"The Big E" Wine Competition
Our "Super Tuscan" style is a wine that pays homage to the Italian spirit of producers that defied the accepted norms to experiment with new blends.
This wine is full bodied and deliciously supple on the palate. It is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Sangiovese Brunello clones, each adding complementary flavors of black and red fruits that harmonize to enrich the overall wine. Both varieties were grown in a single vineyard.
Best served at cellar temperature about 60F and shared with friends.
Suggested Food Pairings:
Both red sauce & creamy pasta dishes, grilled steaks & grilled vegetables, & hard cheeses.

Growing Season
The 2023 vintage was marked by ideal growing conditions with a warm dry summer and an unusually cool autumn which extended the growing season well into November for some varieties and allowed the sugars and phenolics to fully synchronize and ripen with perfect harmony and balance.
The sunny summer days, tempered by cool nights from the cool ocean breeze that flows into the valley were perfect conditions for the long maturation needed for both Cabernet and Sangiovese. The fruit was beautifully ripe with a perfect balance of sugars, phenolics, and acidity, with intense concentration of flavors.
Harvest
The Sangiovese fruit was harvested by hand in late October, while the Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested 1 week later in November. The fruit was loaded into 36 pound lugs to avoid damage, and shipped in refrigerated trucks to preserve the freshness of the fruit.
After 17 days of fermentation, the wine was aged and matured in a French oak cask for 15 months.
