Growing Season

The 2024 vintage was marked by ideal growing conditions with a warm dry summer and an unusually cool autumn which extended the growing season well into November for some varieties and allowed the sugars and phenolics to fully synchronize and ripen with perfect harmony and balance.

The sunny summer days, tempered by cool nights from the cool ocean breeze that flows into the valley were perfect conditions for the long maturation needed for Sangiovese.  The fruit was beautifully ripe with a perfect balance of sugars, phenolics, and acidity, with intense concentration of flavors.

Harvest

The Sangiovese fruit was hand harvested in late October and loaded into 36 pound lugs to avoid damage, and shipped in refrigerated trucks to preserve the freshness of the fruit.

After 14 days of fermentation, the wine was aged and matured in French oak casks for 12 months.

Tasting Notes

A complex wine with flavors of red fruits, soft tannins, and extended length to the finish, this vintage is delicious now and will age beautifully over the next 10-15 years.

Medium bodied with classic cherry and anise flavors with soft velvety tannins and a long finish.
